116 Arhat Kṣāntivardhana (Patience)
Swords, though hard, are easily broken; silk threads, though soft, can entangle things. If a person is too rigid and straightforward, they can easily hurt others' feelings. Combining rigidity and flexibility is the great principle of dealing with the world.
For those who receive this verse, one is too straightforward, speaking and acting without regard for others' feelings, easily offending people. Remember to transform rigidity into flexibility, combining both, to allow more people to approach you.
