013 Arhat Dharmatrata (The Four Joys of the Dharma Realm)

The paths of a noble person and a petty person differ, so they do not conspire together. A noble person plans according to moral principles, while a petty person thinks primarily of profit when facing matters. The human heart is treacherous, and navigating the world is like walking on thin ice. Only by staying away from petty people can one avoid misfortune and live happily.

For those who receive this verse, one should be wary of petty people around them. One should distinguish clearly between noble and petty individuals and absolutely avoid associating with petty people, especially those with wolfish hearts and dog-like lungs, otherwise, one will eventually be harmed by them.
