248 Arhat Nīḍakāri (Nīḍakāri)

Spring plowing, summer planting, autumn harvesting, winter storing – this is the natural cycle of the four seasons. Each season has its requirements; do the seasonal work in season, and perform your duties in your position. Therefore, one should also follow the laws of life: when studying, study well and stay in your place. Looking at one mountain while standing on another will only lead to futile efforts and wasted time.

For those who receive this verse, one should be content with the present and do their job in a down-to-earth manner. If one is fickle and constantly desires what others have, busying themselves when their abilities and foundation are not solid, it will surely lead to futile efforts and wasted time.
