The mantis preys on small insects, unaware of the oriole behind it; the oriole wants to peck the mantis, unaware that a child behind it is aiming with a slingshot. The roles in life are largely similar to this.
For those who receive this verse, one must carefully consider the role one is currently playing in life. One should know that while you are pursuing fame and profit and scheming against others, you are also being schemed against. Rather than doing so, it is better to withdraw and gain a clear conscience.
