264 Arhat Saṅghāgama (Harmony of the Multitude)

Wild geese pass over Wild Goose Peak, returning after wintering. A wanderer far from home still delays returning. Although a foreign land may have every kind of gentle prosperity, how can it compare to the familiar and beautiful land of one's hometown?

For those who receive this verse, do not linger in the prosperity of a foreign land. One should know that in life, one's hometown is one's root. If a person is rootless, they are like duckweed. Pursuing fame and profit, coveting superficial prosperity, will only lead one further and further away from one's inner self.
