314 Arhat Dhūtajāṭila (Practicing Dhūta Faith)


What is the purpose of being in this world? First and foremost is warmth and peace. Being romantic, wealthy, and uninhibited is nothing; it merely leaves one with shame in old age.


For those who receive this verse, one is romantic and wild, self-important. In fact, in life, the key is to achieve inner peace and warmth. If one is excessively romantic and engages in frivolous affairs, although there may be temporary pleasure, one will ultimately fail to find a warm and understanding person. In old age, recalling one's absurd deeds, one will inevitably feel ashamed and regretful, unable to find inner peace.
