The great river surges, flowing powerfully. After rocks and sand are washed away, what floats on the surface is the essence. Since ancient times, heroes have all endured worries and vicissitudes. Good steel is forged, and outstanding individuals are tempered.

For those who receive this verse, one should not fear hardships and difficulties, but strive vigorously. Mencius said, "When Heaven is about to confer a great responsibility upon a person, it must first test their will, exhaust their muscles and bones, starve their body, impoverish them, and frustrate their endeavors." Only in this way can one "benefit what they are unable to do" and gain the talent to achieve things.
