406 Arhat Guṇamukha (Chief of Virtue)
"When meeting people, speak only three-tenths of your mind, do not reveal your whole heart." When interacting with others, one needs to be self-respecting and cautious in speech. As the saying goes, "Knowing someone's face does not mean knowing their heart." When communicating with others, leave room for ambiguity in your words, otherwise, trouble will come from your mouth, like a moth flying into a flame, inviting disaster upon yourself.
For those who receive this verse, one is likely to be unrestrained in speech, bold in action, but careless in speaking. Society is complex, and interpersonal relationships are even more complex. Before careful consideration, instead of rushing to express an opinion, it is better to remain silent. Even if you have a clear plan, treat it with humility and calmness; then disasters can be avoided, misfortunes averted, and things can be accomplished.
