416 Arhat Mānasa (Dispelling Arrogance)

A carefree life is most precious, while a restricted life is unbearable. A prisoner-like life goes against human nature and is therefore tragic. Only by following nature and one's true inclinations can one find joy in life.

For those who receive this verse, one is currently facing two choices: either act according to one's nature, freely; or forge mental shackles for oneself, or be constrained by external conditions and environment, not daring or unable to act as one wishes. People always have shackles, but one should examine whether these shackles are worth it. If so, temporary endurance is fine; if not, one can directly shatter them.
