447 Arhat Vajrajñāna (Vajra Wisdom)
A noble person values righteousness above all, thus having an open heart; a cunning petty person prioritizes money, thus smiling with a dagger hidden. One can often be close to noble people with open hearts, but one must not associate with cunning petty people.
For those who receive this verse, one does not distinguish between noble and petty people, or between good and bad people, which leads to hidden dangers in life, and disaster may strike at any time. Therefore, be observant in dealing with people and cautious in making friends. Being close to noble people and staying away from petty people is the principle for making friends since ancient times.
