449 Arhat Saddharma (Good Abiding Righteousness)

Well-dressed people often appear virtuous but are hypocritical; cunning petty people often have honeyed words and daggers hidden. Judging people by appearance will surely lead to mistakes. In dealing with others, one must listen to their words and observe their actions to avoid being deceived.

For those who receive this verse, one likes to judge people by appearance and enjoys sweet talk. To be such a person is a great mistake. Confucius said, "Judging people by appearance, one loses Ziyu." One should observe a person's heart and discern their true nature. Otherwise, one will inevitably be deceived.
