049 Arhat Pūrṇa Yaśas
Encourage diligence in work, do not attempt to enjoy benefits without effort, or always share others' labor. Only the fruits obtained through one's own hard work will taste truly sweet when enjoyed.
For those who receive this verse, one may have too many thoughts of unearned gains and living off others. One should know that what belongs to others cannot be sought, and even if obtained, it will surely be despised by others and perhaps not cherished. To fulfill one's wishes, one should face reality and work hard oneself; only then will one's gains be respectable.
