090 Arhat Vimalakīrti (Removing Dust Samādhi)
Though the Weaving Maid and Cowherd are immortals, they can only gaze across the river at each other, which is not as happy as the plain life of mortals. So, instead of abandoning family and traveling far, it is better to be content with poverty and enjoy family happiness.
For those who receive this verse, one has a desire to develop elsewhere. One should know that what you already possess is most precious. Do not be too discontent with your current situation, and do not think that a distant land is certainly paradise. In fact, even if not wealthy, being able to enjoy family happiness is always better than embarking on a meaningless adventure far from home.
